PawsPet for owners and rescues
Whether you keep one donkey in the paddock or ten in a sanctuary, PawsPet gives each of them a profile: passport and documents, hoof trims and lab tests in the health history, recurring activities with alerts, and the people who look after them as collaborators. It is a donkey care app for everyday use, not an official register: the passport is always issued by the competent authority.

In the animal's details tab, the Documents strip shows the passport first: upload scans (PDF or photos), the number and who issued it. For insurance and certificates you set an expiry date and one or more reminders; documents that never expire keep no date.
For horses, ponies and donkeys the Health tab has two dedicated record types: hoof trimming and shoeing. You log the date, who did it, cost and notes, and it all stays in the History. The next trim goes in the Activities tab as a recurring activity.
Invite whoever cares for the donkey by name or email, then choose what they can view or edit: general data, health, activities. With Edit on Health a volunteer logs trims and treatments alone. A PawsPet account is needed; documents stay visible only to you.
Record a test from the catalogue or add a custom one, with the lab, sample type, results and a table of values. If it has to be repeated, turn on Repeat periodically and pick how often: the next date shows up at once, and Set alert sends you a notification.
Donkeys
Pets tab, then the plus button. Photo (optional), name and date of birth; species Donkey and breed; sex, neutering and, if relevant, the food-producing flag; then location, stable number, health booklet and microchip, all optional. The app then asks if you have documents to add: now or Not now.
In the details tab, Documents strip, tap Add passport: attachments, number, Issued by and, if needed, an expiry date with reminders. Then in the Health tab tap the plus button, choose hoof trimming and enter the date, who did it, cost and notes: the entry lands in the History.
From the animal's profile, open the menu, then Collaborators and Add collaborator: search the person, choose their permissions and confirm. In the Activities tab create the next trim as a Trimming activity with Repeat (for example every 8 weeks) and an alert: the occurrences are generated for you.
Donkeys
In the EU every equine, donkeys included, must have an identification passport issued by the competent authority: PawsPet does not issue it and does not replace the official register. In the app you upload the scan with its number and issuer; until it is there, the Recommended strip on the profile flags it as Required.
Log the trims already done in the Health tab (plus button, then hoof trimming) so you keep a history with dates and costs. For the reminder, create a Trimming activity in the Activities tab with Repeat set to every N weeks or every N months and an alert from the bell icon: each occurrence shows up in the calendar and you tick it off when done.
Yes. Any volunteer with a PawsPet account can be invited as a collaborator on one or more donkeys, with separate permissions for general data, health and activities; with Edit on Health they log trims, treatments and tests themselves and find the animals under Shared with me. There are no preset roles or automatic expiry: access lasts until you remove it.
As a collaborator they can view and, if you allow it, update the Health tab. Documents and the passport, though, currently stay visible only to the owner: no permission opens them to a collaborator. To show the profile to people without the app, turn on the read-only public link under Sharing: it shows basic details and a health summary, not the documents.
Nothing: downloading the app and using profiles, health, documents and collaborators is free, and there is no subscription. PawsPet keeps a fee only on orders paid in the app, that is when you book and pay for a service through the marketplace.
