Recording with the GPS in horse riding, show jumping, endurance, cross-country or horse trekking, the phone detects the jumps: airtime and estimated height.

Passport and documents in the profile
In the «Anagraphic» tab the passport, mandatory for equines, always comes first: number, issuing body, dates and scans in page order. Insurance and certificates can have an expiry date and, if you want, an alert.
Coggins and vaccines, on their own schedule
Under Lab test, pick Coggins test (EIA): the app suggests the sample type, a 12-month repeat and validity, plus a Mandatory badge with the legal reference where your country requires it. Tetanus and equine influenza stay in Recommended until you log them.
Shoeing and trimming: history and next visit
Shoeing and Hooves trimming are health record types reserved for horses, ponies and donkeys: date, who did it, cost and notes stay in the history. The next farrier visit goes into the calendar as a repeating activity, every six weeks for example, with alerts.
Groom, yard and vet with the right permissions
From «Collaborators» you invite anyone with a PawsPet account and decide, area by area, whether they view or also edit health, activities and, if needed, documents. The horse appears under their «Shared with me». Deleting the horse stays with you.
Adoptions and services for horses and ponies
Adoption listings are free and are published and browsed on pawspet.it. You book farriers, hoof trimming and stable services from the app, in the «Services» tab.
How you start with your horse in the app
Create the horse's profile
Pets tab » «+»: optional photo, name and date of birth, species Horse or Pony with breeds, sex and coat colour, then stable number, health booklet and microchip. On the last step you can upload the passport straight away with Add document, or tap Not now.
Record tests, vaccines, shoeing and deworming
In the Health tab tap «+» and pick the type: Lab test for the Coggins, Vaccine for tetanus and equine influenza with doses, expiry and alert, Shoeing or Hooves trimming with date and farrier, a recurring Therapy for deworming. The Recommended strip in the profile shows what is missing.
Share with the people who care for the horse
Open the horse » «⋮» » Collaborators » Add collaborator: search the person by name or email, tick View or Edit for Health and Activities and confirm. You can change or remove permissions at any time; only you can delete the horse.
Questions about the app for horses
- Yes. Each horse or pony has its own profile with stable number, documents, health and activities; the Pets tab lists them all, yours under My and the ones others share with you under Shared with me. An activity can be linked to several animals at once.
- Open the horse » «Anagraphic» tab » «Documents» strip » dashed «Add passport» card, or tap the «Passport» pill under «Recommended». Only one passport is allowed per animal; put expiry dates on the documents that really expire, such as insurance and certificates.
- Health tab » «+» » Lab test » choose Coggins test (EIA) from the catalogue, then date, laboratory and results. The app suggests Repeat periodically every 12 months and shows the next due date; with Set alert you get a notification. Where your country requires the test, it is marked Mandatory with the legal reference and a Source link.
- Yes, if they have a PawsPet account: invite them from «Collaborators» and choose the permissions, for example «View» only on Health. They see the horse under «Shared with me» with only the tabs you allow; documents only if you open them. The read-only link never shows them.
- Yes: if you record the outing with your phone's GPS as horse riding, show jumping, endurance, cross-country or horse trekking, the app detects the jumps and estimates their airtime and height. Keep the phone steady, in a pocket or a holder. In other activity types jumps are not counted.
