PawsPet for cat shelters and rescues
PawsPet is a free cat shelter management app for rescues and colony carers: one record per cat in five steps, a photo that suggests species and breed, neutered status with date, microchip and the colony in the Position field. You log therapies, tests and kitten weights, invite the foster carer as a collaborator and offer cats for adoption from the record. Honest limit: no colony record or map, one cat at a time.

Photo, name and date of birth; meanwhile the app tries to recognise species and breed, so at the Species step they are already selected and easy to correct. Then sex, neutered yes/no with date, colour, distinguishing marks and microchip. It saves offline too.
In Position write the name of the colony, pen or foster family. In the Pets list, typing it in the search bar shows only those cats; with hundreds of records you switch to the photo grid or jump to a letter with the side index.
A flea or worm treatment becomes a recurrent therapy: each dose is an activity to tick off, with an alert if you want one. Lab tests come from a catalogue with feline entries such as the FIV/FeLV test, and Repeat periodically tells you when they are due again.
You invite them as a collaborator on that cat, with permissions on Health and Activities: they find it under Shared with me, log weight and therapies, never see other cats or documents. When fostering ends, remove them with a tap. They need a PawsPet account.
Cat shelters and rescues
In the Pets tab tap +. Identity: photo or Skip the photo, name, date of birth. Species: confirm the suggestion or choose by hand. Registry: sex, neutered with date, colour, distinguishing marks. Details: the colony in Position, then the microchip. Documents: upload now or Not now.
Under Diet, therapies and treatments tap Add, choose Therapy, enter name and quantity, switch on Recurrent and, if you like, Create to-dos in activities. For a test tap + and Lab test: pick it from the catalogue, enter date and results, switch on Repeat periodically.
Open the kitten, go to Measurements and tap +: pick the date, enter the weight in kg with decimals (under 1 kg it shows in grams), add a photo and a note if you want, save. One measurement per day: reopening the same day updates it. With at least two weights the chart appears.
An up-to-date profile helps you explain an animal’s character, habits and needs. Use the PawsPet adoption space to introduce them, while your organisation continues to handle conversations, assessments and adoption decisions.
Cat shelters and rescues
Yes. There is no subscription: records, health, measurements, collaborators and adoption listings cost nothing. PawsPet keeps a fee only on orders paid in the app by people buying services or products from a business, which a shelter that sells nothing never uses.
Every cat has its own record and you write the colony name in the Position field. In the Pets list you type that name in the search bar and see only the cats of that colony, with neutered status, microchip and colour already on the record. There is no colony record or map: the colony is a label you filter by.
Invite them as a collaborator on that cat only: open the record, the top menu, Collaborators, Add collaborator, search the person by name or email (a PawsPet account is needed) and grant View or Edit on Health and Activities. They see only that cat, under Shared with me, never the documents. When fostering ends, remove them from the same screen.
From the cat's record open the top menu and tap Offer for adoption: title, health declaration, the truthfulness tick, then Publish or Save draft. The listing is free, people browse it on the PawsPet website or through the link you share, and requests arrive under My animal listings. Publishing in the rescue's name needs a PawsPet Business profile.
Yes. Creating a record and logging measurements both work offline: they stay on the device and are sent as soon as the connection returns, without blocking the app. Species and breed recognition from the photo does need a connection, though: without one, pick Cat by hand from the species grid.

Download PawsPet, register the first cat with its colony in Position and invite the people who look after it. To publish in the rescue's name, and offer an optional contribution once verified, add PawsPet Business.
